I can safely say i have had my "fix" of shooting sport for the time being, 8 hours straight at the Stampede in Wandin Park on Saturday and 8 hours at ISKA on Sunday but all worth it and wouldn't trade it for anything. Both great spectacles with the Stampede being the first in Melbourne, it was a blast. I was posted at "Sunday Roast" where they jumped over flaming logs. These poor buggers were so cold and tired by this stage instead of treating the flames with caution many were actually drawn to the warmth, some crouched over the flames and many commented "that was nice" or "lets go back".
ISKA was an eye opener for me never having been so close to Karate and all the strains of Martial Arts in competative form. There were little kids like 5 or 6 years old going for it up to full grown men thumping it out in any one of the 6 rings that were in use constantly. I admire their skill, discipline and hard work. They all deserve a medal!
Many thanks goes out to my great team who did such a wonderful job with my wife Sue shooting the podium (first time) and Glenn doing the rounds on the rings.
